Glomp Privacy Policy

Glomp is a single-player word game that runs entirely on your device. RPL Motion, Inc. does not collect, store, or receive any personal information about you. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no servers of our own.

Glomp is published by RPL Motion, Inc. ("we", "us"). This policy explains how the Glomp iOS app handles information. It covers the app only — it does not cover Apple's services, or any other app or website.
Where data protection law applies to us, RPL Motion, Inc. is the data controller for the very limited processing described here. Our contact details are in section 12.

We want to be specific rather than vague, because "we value your privacy" tells you nothing. Glomp contains no analytics framework, no advertising network, no crash reporting service, and no third-party software development kits of any kind. It does not communicate with any server that we operate, because we do not operate one.
In particular, Glomp never requests, collects, or transmits:
Your name, email address, phone number, or postal address
Your location, at any level of precision
Your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, calendar, or health data
Your device's advertising identifier, or any identifier used to track you across apps or websites
Usage analytics, session recordings, diagnostics, or crash logs sent to us
Payment or financial information — the app contains no purchases of any kind
Because Glomp does not track you across apps or websites, it does not present Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.
The game's dictionary and its calendar of daily letter sets are bundled inside the app when you download it. No network request is needed to play, and none is made.

Glomp saves your appearance preference — Light, Dark, or System — locally on your device so the app looks the same next time you open it. This preference stays on your device, is never transmitted anywhere, and is not associated with you as an individual.
The words you find during a session, your time, and your grade for the day are held in memory while you play and are shown to you at the end of the round. Apart from the Game Center submission described in section 4, they are not sent anywhere.
Deleting the app removes everything Glomp has stored on your device.

Glomp uses Apple's Game Center to show a leaderboard. This is the only feature that sends anything off your device.
If you are signed in to Game Center, the app submits your percentage score for the day to Apple, which records it against your Game Center player identity and displays it on the leaderboard alongside other players. Whether other people can see your entry, and under what nickname, is governed by your own Game Center privacy settings — not by us.
We do not receive a copy of this data, we cannot export it, and we hold no database of players. We see the same leaderboard you do.
Apple's handling of Game Center data is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy. You can sign out of Game Center, or turn it off for Glomp, in the Settings app on your device. Glomp remains fully playable with Game Center switched off — the leaderboard is simply unavailable.

Glomp reads your device's motion sensors so that tilting the phone nudges the letters around the screen. This reading happens continuously while you play and is used immediately to move objects on screen.
Motion data is never recorded, never stored, and never transmitted. It exists only for the instant it takes to draw the next frame.

At the end of a round you can choose to share your result. Doing so opens your device's own Messages composer with a short line of text already filled in — your percentage and your longest word.
You choose the recipients and you choose whether to send it. Glomp cannot read your contacts, cannot see who you selected, and cannot send anything on your behalf. Nothing is shared unless you tap send yourself.

Glomp is suitable for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Since we collect no personal information at all, we hold no children's data to disclose, correct, or delete.
Parents and guardians who want to restrict the leaderboard can disable Game Center for Glomp, or use Screen Time restrictions, in the Settings app.

For players in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area, the UK GDPR and EU GDPR require us to identify a lawful basis for any processing of personal data.
We do not process personal data. The one place where data leaves your device — the Game Center leaderboard — is a feature you enable yourself by signing in to Game Center, and Apple acts as the controller for that data. Where any processing by us is nevertheless found to occur, we rely on our legitimate interest in providing the leaderboard feature you asked for, and you can withdraw from it at any time by signing out of Game Center.
We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we have not done so in the preceding twelve months.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to complain to a supervisory authority.
We honour these rights in full. In practice, because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to retrieve, correct, or erase:
Data on your device — delete the app.
Game Center data — managed through your Apple Account. Apple's privacy policy explains how to request access or deletion.
If you believe we hold information about you, write to us using the details in section 12 and we will respond within the time limits set by applicable law. Exercising your rights will never cost you anything or result in worse service.
In the United Kingdom you may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office; in the EEA, to your national data protection authority.

Retention. We retain no personal data, so there is no retention period to state. Your appearance preference stays on your device until you delete the app.
Security. The strongest protection we can offer is not holding your data in the first place, which is the approach we have taken. Information stored on your device is protected by iOS and by your device passcode.
International transfers. We transfer no personal data internationally. Any transfer arising from your use of Game Center is carried out by Apple under its own safeguards.
11 Changes to this policy
If Glomp's data practices change — for example if a future version adds a feature that needs a server — we will update this policy and change the effective date at the top of the page before that version is released.
Where a change materially affects your rights, we will also describe it in the app's release notes on the App Store, so you can see what changed before you update.
