Glomp Privacy Policy
v1.0 — effective 22 October 2026
This policy describes how the Glomp Android game, published by RPL Motion, Inc., handles information.
Summary
Glomp keeps almost everything on your device. It does not require an account, and it does not show ads or send analytics or crash reports to the developer. The only information that leaves your device goes to Google, and only when you use Google Play features such as sign-in, leaderboards or purchases.
In short: game progress and settings stay on your phone, and Google handles sign-in, leaderboards and payments under its own policies.
Information stored on your device
Glomp saves the following in private storage on your device, in an app-only settings file that other apps cannot read:
Game progress: your current streak of days played, your last played date, a lifetime count of words, and achievement progress.
Settings: appearance (light, dark or system), music, sound effects and haptics on or off, motion sensitivity, and Competition difficulty.
Tutorial status: whether you have seen the how-to-play walkthrough.
Glomp+ status: a single flag recording whether Glomp+ is unlocked, copied from Google Play's purchase records.
The words you form are checked against a dictionary bundled with the app. They are not sent anywhere.
Google services
Glomp uses Google Play services for three optional features. Google handles each under its own privacy policy.
Play Games sign-in: if you sign in to Google Play Games, the game receives whether you are signed in. When you finish a daily, Word Journey, Scarcity or Competition round, the score is submitted to the matching leaderboard. Google keeps your best score per leaderboard and shows your display name and avatar there.
Today's ranking: when signed in, the game asks Google for your standing among today's players and shows it as "top N%" on the game-over screen.
Achievements: when signed in, unlocked achievements are reported to Google Play Games.
Google Play Billing: Glomp+ is a one-time purchase handled by Google Play. Glomp receives the purchase result and the price shown in the store. Glomp does not see your payment details.
You can use Glomp without signing in to Play Games. Those features simply stay unavailable.
Data we do not collect
Glomp does not:
require an account or ask for your name, email address or phone number
show advertising or include advertising SDKs
include third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs
read your contacts, photos, files, messages or location
request any Android runtime permissions
access the internet directly. The app's own manifest does not request the INTERNET permission. Google's sign-in, leaderboard and billing components communicate with Google Play services on your behalf.
The phone's motion sensor is used only to tilt the board while you play. Readings are used on the device and are not recorded or sent anywhere.
Backups, sharing and third parties
Game data is stored with Android's standard app storage. Because the app allows backups, Android's Auto Backup may include that storage in your Google account backup, which Google protects under its own policies. You can turn off backups in your Android settings.
The only time Glomp sends text off your device is when you tap share after a daily round. That opens Android's share sheet with your result as plain text, and you choose where it goes. Glomp does not share your data with anyone else, and it does not sell data.
The third parties involved are Google (Play Games, Google Play Billing and Play services) and the operating system. Their handling of data is governed by their own policies.
Children, retention, changes and contact
Glomp is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because it collects no personal information, there is nothing to delete from the developer's side.
Your game data stays on your device until you clear the app's storage or uninstall Glomp. Purchase and leaderboard records are held by Google under its policies. To remove Play Games data, use Google's settings.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.
